CBIC and Ministry of Cities: housing and infrastructure

President of CBIC reinforces partnership with the Ministry of Cities for housing, infrastructure, sanitation and Minha Casa, Minha Vida. See highlights from the meeting.

CBIC and Ministry of Cities: housing and infrastructure

The president of CBIC, Eduardo Aroeira, met with the Minister of Cities, Vladimir Lima, in Brasília, to align the partnership between civil construction and the Federal Government on strategic housing, infrastructure and urban development agendas. The meeting, held on Tuesday (04/08), marked Aroeira's first official agenda at the ministry since assuming the presidency of the entity in July.

What CBIC discussed with the Ministry of Cities

During the meeting, priority topics for the development of civil construction and national infrastructure were discussed, such as the improvement of housing policies, ways of financing infrastructure works, investments in basic sanitation and actions to contain slopes. The strengthening of social programs, with emphasis on Minha Casa, Minha Vida, was also on the agenda.

  • Improving housing policies
  • Financing of infrastructure works
  • Investments in basic sanitation
  • Ações de contenção de encostas
  • Fortalecimento do Minha Casa, Minha Vida

According to Aroeira, the meeting was an opportunity to reaffirm the entity's willingness to contribute with proposals for the country's development, ensuring that public policies increasingly reach the forefront. "This was my first agenda at the Ministry of Cities as president of CBIC and an important opportunity for us to reaffirm the entity's willingness to contribute with proposals for the country's development", stated the president of CBIC. The executive president of CBIC, Fernando Guedes, also participated in the meeting.

The meeting reinforces the entity's commitment to institutional dialogue and the construction of solutions for national development. For the sector, the agenda confirms that housing, sanitation and infrastructure remain government priorities, which guides the medium and long-term planning of construction companies, developers and designers.

What changes for the construction sector

The joint agenda between CBIC and the Ministry of Cities signals advances in areas that directly affect the engineering and construction market. Infrastructure financing tends to unlock new bids in sanitation and urbanization; housing policy supports the demand for Minha Casa, Minha Vida units; and slope containment opens up opportunities for slope stabilization and drainage works in risk areas.

For companies and professionals, the practical development appears on three fronts: more infrastructure contracts, greater predictability in housing programs and new demands for engineering projects. Offices that work with BIM modeling, topography and sanitation projects tend to benefit directly from this movement, both in public works and in private projects.

Frentes de oportunidade: basic sanitation, urbanization, slope containment and social housing.

Next steps for the partnership

During the meeting, the president of CBIC invited minister Vladimir Lima to the inauguration ceremony of the entity's new board, scheduled for the 19th. The minister's participation reinforces the institutional rapprochement between the sector and the government, signaling continuity in the dialogue on housing, infrastructure and urban development.

For the market, the expected outcome is the transformation of these conversations into concrete public policies, with a direct impact on the volume of works and confidence in the sector. CBIC's expectation is that the new board will maintain the cities agenda as a priority, expanding dialogue with the Ministry of Cities and other federal bodies.
