Work safety in construction is no longer just a legal obligation and has become a strategic priority for companies in the sector. Proof of this is MegaSipat, a SindusCon-SP program that, in partnership with Seconci-SP, Sesi-SP and Senai-SP, has already trained 14,682 workers on 147 construction sites in 57 companies throughout the State of São Paulo. In a sector that accounts for a significant share of workplace accidents in the country, initiatives like this show the way to reduce risks with education and prevention.
MegaSipat: training on site
Launched on June 15th and with activities until August 14th, MegaSipat takes training directly to construction sites, allowing professionals to receive practical guidance during the workday itself. With the theme "Security that Connects: Every Attitude Protects a Life", the action brings together a program developed by the initiative's partners, each with a specific front.
- Senai-SP: safety training, with safe behaviors, operation of machines and equipment, working at heights and risk perception
- Seconci-SP: mental health, prevention of alcohol and drug abuse, personal hygiene, oral health and pain care
- Sesi-SP: ergonomics, healthy eating and workplace gymnastics
The content also includes the correct use of ladders and awareness about cell phone use during working hours — a growing risk on construction sites. In this edition, the program also includes actions aimed at men's health, expanding the reach of the initiative.
According to the president of SindusCon-SP, Yorki Estefan, MegaSipat shows that work safety in construction goes far beyond accident prevention: companies are placing human beings at the center of priorities, with actions aimed at mental health, disease prevention and quality of life.

The model of taking training to the site also reduces worker absence: instead of moving teams to classrooms outside working hours, companies take advantage of shifts to apply short and objective guidelines. The result is training that has little impact on productivity and a lot on prevention.
This combination of prevention, education and health promotion is what makes MegaSipat a reference for Brazilian construction — and a model that can be replicated by construction companies of any size, including medium and small ones, which often do not have a dedicated OSH team.
